Glass box-frame Diptych
1 x frame @ 600mm x 600mm / 1 x frame @ 300mm x 600mm
150 x pieces of delicate hand made kiln-formed glass. Pale aqua/turquoise, pink and lemon palette, also featuring dichroic. Each section is individually mounted onto clear Perspex rod so as to appear free floating within the larger box-frame.
Mounted on a white background strong reflections of colour will appear within the piece if the front lighting is well considered.
Each handcrafted section of glass is a composition in itself carefully cut and polished to look like a little painting. The mass repeat creating a larger effect of each individual section, all pieces have hidden detail t include precious metallic threads of dichroic in a range of colours, silver, teal, magenta and gold. The pieces are arranged in a square format made more complicated by them being different shapes and sizes so not at equal distance. This is deliberate to create a rhythm across the composition which would be lost if all were the same. This is a ‘static’ progression form my suspended installations and could be commissioned in an array of colours, patterns, sizes and formations…. the scope is endless.
